After seeing each other for months at church, Sherri Smith and Brie Davis decided to meet for lunch at a nearby Mediterranean restaurant and the rest was history. Slowly, but surely, a friendship blossomed as they shared details about their lives, marriages, and work. This friendship was a healing place for both women. They had both experienced trauma, in childhood and adulthood, that had them in a state of questioning their own worthiness and leaving them emotionally damaged. They wanted to heal, but did not know how to heal. A year into the friendship as they continued walking out their own healing, Sherri and Brie began hosting a small group of women for connection and community. The overwhelming theme discussed between their small group was the need for emotional healing within women. The women wanted to heal, but did not know how to heal. In 2020, Sherri and Brie felt like they heard from God and began to form RecovHER Institute.
